Project description: Project commissioned by Prof. Maarten van Bommel (Conservation and Restoration). The 4DRL has made a photogrammetric high-resolution scan of the kaftan from the unique textile finds that emerged from the Palmhout wreck near Texel. This is a pilot project that looks at the added value of these scans for studying the Textile, and serves as the basis for a 3D model of the garment that can be used to simulate traditional costume realistically.
