Research Interfaces
At the 4D Research Lab, we aim to make data as open accessible as possible while providing opportunities for collaboration and interactive viewing.
Many of our projects are therefore disseminated to audiences through browser-based viewers or apps with functions for analyzing 3D models, interacting with virtual environments, or annotating models in order to contribute to and enrich the datasets.
Projects
3D Workspace
2022-2023
A 3D platform to facilitate re-use of 3D models through the addition of annotations and narratives, as well as side-by-side comparison of multiple models, within an online app environment adapted from the open source Voyager platform. It will allow data enrichment by enabling multi-authoring through the built-in annotation system, as well as through linkage to datasets.
Animal mummy 3D viewer
A 3D viewer that allows users to interact with CT and 3D scan data . Visitors can interact with the models by changing the visual settings, unwrapping the mummy layer by layer, and annotating their discoveries.
Virtual Past Places
A browser-based, collaborative, virtual reality platform where users can experience the past based on virtual historical reconstructions.
COMMANDER'S HOUSE APP, WESTERBORK MEMORIAL CENTRE
An app that guides the user on a digital tour of the house of the commander at Westerbork and provides information on the camp and the house throughout the years.
